Whether it's for the purpose of UXO services or archaeology both offshore and on land, desk based historical research provides data which we use to locate or assess presence of UXO or (underwater) heritage.

This research will, where applicable, lead to a project specific risk assessment report which will be the base line for our geophysics approach. If an area is for instance identified as a wartime target area for non-ferrous sea mines we can adapt our search tactics and geophysical equipment to find these mines. Old maps of defensive positions, wartime aerial images, sea mine field charts but also reports on previous archaeology or UXO clearance of an area help identify risk and contributes to the cost effectiveness of tackling the UXO and heritage challenges an area may present.
