Last winter, ADEDE examined the subsurface in the port of Ghent for unexploded ordnance. We previously conducted historical research, which revealed that the site was the scene of extensive warfare during both the First and, especially, the Second World War.
Using our custom-built drilling installation, our teams insert electromagnetic sensors into the ground at great depths. This allows us to accurately detect potential explosives and map risk locations, ensuring future work can proceed safely.
